Higher education (HE) is on the edge of transformation, bringing new forms of knowledge and competence development and transfer through innovative models of formal and non-formal training. These are interrelated and built on artificial intelligence and mass data. Higher education teachers and students are being pushed to develop the competences of Society 5.0 and Industry 4.0. This was already indicated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which revealed the gaps between current skills and the skills needed by industry due to the constant technological advances. The overall objective of the project is to use decision support systems (DSSs) to monitor the development of STEM students' competences during formal and non-formal education, which they need to successfully make the transition to 21st-century society. The specific objectives of the project are: to identify general and specific skills of STEM students for the labour market; to promote the cross-sectoral and bilateral exchange of good practices in the use of digital tools for the development of 21st-century skills; to design a new teaching and learning approach for students with the RESPO-VI decision support system. The RESPO-VI project is co-financed by the Norway Grants under the programme Education, Scholarships, Apprenticeship and Youth Entrepreneurship, EEA Grants and Slovenian contribution (Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development) for an amount of EUR 499,917.
