ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP AT IPS

Erasmus+ Internship at IPS

Published: 13. may. 2024

During my master’s research, I focused on discovering new coordination compounds involving acylhydrazones. As part of my studies at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, I completed an internship at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School. Acylhydrazones and their complexes represent a rapidly evolving field in modern coordination chemistry. These compounds exhibit a wide range of biological and catalytic activities, positioning them as promising materials for drug development, biosensors, and catalysts.

My work primarily centered on synthesizing these specified compounds using various methods. Additionally, I conducted structural analyses using X-ray diffraction techniques. During my stay, I collaborated with a team of researchers proficient in electrochemical, solvothermal, and hydrothermal synthesis methods. Their expertise, coupled with access to state-of-the-art X-ray structural analysis equipment, allowed me to confirm the structures of newly synthesized compounds.

The skills I acquired during this experience will undoubtedly shape my future career. Furthermore, Erasmus+ funding significantly facilitated this enriching opportunity.
