Short summary:
In the study, we used advanced microscopy techniques to understand how inhaled nanoparticles might travel from the nose to the brain. We used neurons grown in laboratory to show that these particles can damage brain cells in ways similar to Alzheimer's disease. This includes the formation of abnormal protein clumps, like amyloid-β and Tau, and the death of neurons.
