IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Anubhav Vishwakarma titled: Design-based optimization of a custom permanent magnet focused on a reduced raw-material consumption. The defence will take place on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Kolar's Lecture Room (JSI, Jamova cesta 39, Ljubljana).
Short summary:
The thesis is devoted to a geometry optimization of the magnets for magnetic harvester- a device which converts a mechanical energy of a human motion into electricity. On the basis of a finite-element modeling it is demonstrated that a carefully designed magnet, which can be manufactured as a one piece and magnetized uniformly in a single step, is more optimal than a conventional set-up assembled from multiple parts, exhibiting a complex magnetization pattern.
